I’m Pete Harrison, the Acoustic Engineering Manager at Monitor Audio. My role involves working closely with the rest of the engineering and product design teams to ensure that every product we release delivers the sound quality, innovation, and performance that Monitor Audio is known for.
The Creator Series already set a new benchmark for architectural speakers, it’s easy to navigate, straightforward to specify, and delivers excellent sound across the whole range. With the In-Wall Large, we’ve pushed performance even further, giving installers and homeowners a speaker that can deliver higher output, greater clarity, and a truly immersive experience.
That was a really deliberate choice. Smaller drivers are faster and more controlled, which means tighter, more detailed bass. By using four 5” drivers, we can ensure less distortion and a more even spread of sound throughout the room. It also helps reduce cabinet vibrations, so you get cleaner audio even at higher volumes.
Each tier builds on the same foundation but adds more refinement.
Tier 1 uses our C-CAM drivers to deliver great clarity and dispersion at a very accessible price point. Tier 2 steps up with RST II drivers, inspired by our Silver 7G range, plus boundary correction and HF adjustment for more placement flexibility. Then Tier 3 is the high-performance option with RDT III drivers, a 3” dedicated mid, and our MPD II transducer, all based on Platinum Series 3G technology. It’s designed to bring full-scale hi-fi and home cinema performance to an architectural format.
It gives installers and listeners more flexibility. The array can be rotated depending on whether the speaker is used vertically or horizontally, which makes it ideal for LCR (left, centre, right) home cinema setups. It keeps the imaging precise and the soundstage consistent, no matter how you configure the speakers.
Every crossover in the In-Wall Large models has been through hundreds of iterations and listening tests. The idea is to make sure each driver is handling exactly the frequencies it’s best at. That means cleaner sound, smoother transitions, and better protection for the drivers. As you move up the tiers, the crossovers get more advanced, with higher-grade components and greater precision.
Scale is the first thing. These speakers can fill a room with ease, but without losing control or detail. Vocals sound natural and lifelike, bass is deep but tight, and the overall soundstage feels wide and immersive. Whether it’s a big home cinema or a high-end two-channel setup, you get that same Monitor Audio high-fidelity sound.
