Monitor Audio Group is proud to announce our exclusive partnership with the Museum of Youth Culture, which opens its doors to the public on Saturday 20th June 2026, in Camden, London. It's a milestone that feels personal to us, because we believe, as they do, that sound isn't background noise. It's the fabric of lived experience.
Housed on a 6,500 sq ft St Pancras Campus site, the Museum of Youth Culture is the world's first permanent institution dedicated to preserving and celebrating youth culture as a defining force in modern history. Spread across four distinct spaces, visitors can explore photography, fashion, music, objects, ephemera, and personal stories that document how generations of young people have shaped society through creativity, style, activism, and self-expression.
One of the museum's four spaces has been co-designed with young people currently working with the organisation, ensuring that contemporary youth voices remain at the very heart of the experience, not as an afterthought, but as its foundation.
As Founder Jon Swinstead puts it: "We aren't stuffy, this is a museum with a small 'm'. We're creating spaces that tell stories of who we are. Youth culture drives innovation, challenges norms and creates communities. It's why MOYC matters, and why we want everyone to be part of it."
Sound is inseparable from the stories the Museum of Youth Culture tells and we were honoured to be trusted with delivering it. Monitor Audio Group carefully selected speakers from our award-winning Architectural Series portfolio to complement the museum's urban, industrial aesthetic.
Climate Series 3G CL2 M speakers integrate seamlessly throughout the space, while our THX Ultra Certified Cinergy Series delivers impactful, large-scale audio in the areas where visuals and sound work together to tell the story of youth culture. Across the museum, our cutting-edge Installation Amplifiers 2G and streaming amplifiers provide the flexibility to zone audio for different curated exhibitions, giving each space its own distinct atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the partnership is our collaboration with acclaimed audiovisual artist and Notting Hill Carnival Chairperson Linett Kamala. Drawing on the deep traditions of sound system culture and community gathering, Linett has designed a custom-built sound system installation featuring Monitor Audio's THX Certified Ultra Cinergy Series for the main gallery, a powerful centrepiece that honours the communal, visceral power of music in youth culture.
The partnership between Monitor Audio Group and the Museum of Youth Culture reflects something we feel deeply: that sound and music are not just entertainment. They're integral to our shared cultural heritage.
As Michael Johnson, Global Marketing Director of Monitor Audio Group, explains: "Our commitment to quality audio aligns perfectly with the museum's mission to preserve and celebrate youth culture. This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to connect with music lovers of all ages and provide a rich, authentic listening experience that brings the stories and exhibits of youth culture to life."
Alongside its permanent collection, the museum will host a year-round programme of workshops, talks, exhibitions, presentations, and special events, while continuing its work with young people through dedicated education and community initiatives.
The Museum of Youth Culture opens on Saturday 20th June 2026, in Camden, London. We invite you to visit, listen, and let the sound of a century of youth culture move you — exactly as it was meant to.
