Job Title: Communications & Events Executive
I started my career in the hifi industry in 2022 when I took an administrative role at a hifi retailer. From that point on, I have moved through social media and digital marketing to communications and events here at Monitor Audio Group.
What drew me to Monitor Audio Group in particular was their fantastic reputation in the audio industry, the passion for excellent sound, and, of course, their beautiful speakers.
What has kept me here is the company’s support for my career progression. They have given me the opportunity to develop my marketing skills through a Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship, as well as by allowing me to take ownership of certain campaigns and projects.
Even though I have only been here a year, it is difficult to pinpoint just one project I’m most proud of!
The largest project I worked on was coordinating our ISE 2025 showcase. This required months of preparation, where I managed many aspects, including logistics, digital communications, collaboration with our stand designers, coordinating the internal team, and more. It was a huge task with a lot riding on it, so when we arrived in Barcelona and saw the beautiful stand, along with the positive feedback from our partners, it made all the hard work worthwhile.
A more recent campaign I am particularly proud of is the Roksan 40th Anniversary campaign. I created the video storyboards and assisted with directing the filming while also coordinating the marketing team to produce all visuals and the brochure. I worked closely with other teams to generate fresh, engaging content. The result was a highly successful and engaging campaign that received excellent feedback.
My role has evolved over the past year as I have been given more opportunities to take on additional tasks, such as writing press releases, creating presentation decks, and developing new processes.
There are also a few new projects in the pipeline that I am very excited to be a part of!
A valuable lesson I’ve learned during my time here is the importance of having confidence in my ideas and recognising that my voice matters. Working in the audio industry as a woman, and as the only woman on our marketing team, can come with its challenges, but I’ve been fortunate to have such a supportive team around me. This experience has taught me to speak up, trust my perspective, and make sure my ideas are heard, even if it means pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.
Try not to let the stress get the better of you!! You’re allowed to make mistakes; that’s human.
Dynamic.
