Voice Notes

Yazmin Lacey | On Your Own Records

The debut album from singer-songwriter Yazmin Lacey is uncategorisable, made up of many styles and influences. Voice Notes is a wonderful snapshot of the intimate parts of her own life. Red Moon In Venus

Kali Uchis | Geffen

With her blend of R&B and neo soul, Colombian American singer Kali Uchis stands above her peers as she introduces Red Moon In Venus. Despite being vulnerable, Uchis is vengeful as she delves into her love life on her third studio album, stating that “This body of work represents all levels of love”. With psychedelic soundscapes, blissful melodies and smooth jazz-pop, Uchis is the modern Latin soul diva.

Manzanita

Shana Cleveland | Hardly Art

A supernatural love album set in the California wilderness, Manzanita is Shana Cleveland’s most personal album yet. Following her breast cancer diagnosis, the American musician's third solo album switches to a slightly different sonic palette this time round. With downcast, Western-style acoustics and dazzling production, Cleveland’s breathy voice matched with her soft, but stunning vocals, is utterly captivating.

Fauna

Haken | Inside Out Music

British progressive metal band Haken’s seventh studio album follows the theme of animal behaviour and its parallels to human behaviour. The band leaned heavily on American science fiction writer PKD for lyrical inspiration on Fauna. Though it still features soaring choruses, the tone is certainly more lighthearted than previous entries, with the band confirming their new musical direction, stating “This is a new era for Haken and we cannot wait to share it with all of you!”.
