Following acquisitions by large gaming publishers to add to their ever growing portfolios, there were recent reports that blockbuster game development costs were out of control, effecting release dates and the rising costs in gaming.
Despite this, after a jam-packed year of AAA game releases in 2023, fans are excited for the future, with companies like Microsoft “doubling down” on video games. Immersive gaming has also grown significantly with the advent of VR and AR technologies. With younger audiences, the time spent gaming continues to rise, and market research indicates that there could be as many as 3.3 billion people playing by 2024.

Rather than offer a full open world game, Obsidian devided to instead offer large open zones, with a heavy focus emphasis on story and characters.

An action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe, Outlaws takes place during the period between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
