Port bungs are useful in small rooms (around 9sqm/80sqft) or where bass sounds are accentuated — particularly if a speaker must sit close to a rear wall. They reduce bass "boom" by lowering energy around the port tuning frequency, improving clarity without reducing overall bass extension. Not applicable to the Silver Centre 8G or Silver AMS 8G, which are sealed designs.
