The Monitor Audio Silver 100 8G has been awarded a Highly Recommended accolade by AVForums, with reviewer Tim Hancock praising the model as a standout within its price bracket. Hancock noted that "the Silver Series sits in that sweet spot of a price point where you can demand and expect real hi-fi performance but don't have to remortgage your home for the privilege", while also highlighting the brand's consistency, adding that "Monitor Audio have always maintained an exceptional level of build quality, regardless of product, and the Silver 100 8G is no exception." On sound, the review was equally direct: the speakers "have a tremendous attention-grabbing quality, full of life and excitement that leaves you no choice but to listen".
Across a range of musical styles, Hancock found the 100 8G especially adept at translating character as well as content, observing that "as I listened to a variety of genres and production styles, it became clear these speakers have a great ability to convey the character of the piece and not just the composition." The review concluded that "if you want a speaker that gives you lots of detail, involves you in what the recording is doing and has impressive scale, then there is so much to enjoy here".
