We spend a lot of time thinking about how music should sound. Speaker cabinets, driver design, cabinet resonance, room acoustics, it's detail-driven, technical work. But underneath all of it is something much simpler: a love of music.
So, this Record Store Day, we asked everyone at Monitor Audio to share a song, an artist, or an album that means something to them.
What came back was genuinely surprising. There are records on here that span decades, genres, and moods; songs played on the way to school, the first vinyl someone ever bought, and albums tied to the best gig they’ve experienced.
What they all have in common is this: these records matter to someone. Someone who, when they put them on, stops whatever they're doing and actually listens. That's what we're chasing every time we build a speaker, that feeling. And it turns out the people building them feel it just as keenly as you do.
