On the performance, Tech reviewer Matthew Eisengruber watched a number of films to test out what the 5.1 system could offer, with Doctor Sleep, No Time to Die, Sicario and Blade Runner 2049 among them, commenting that the "vocal clarity from the centre channel was excellent throughout", adding "the next observation both my wife and I noted was how excellent the speech intelligibility was".
After watching Sicario 2: Soldado, Matthew said "at this point, I had stopped taking notes and was simply enjoying the sonic experience the film offered."
Upon switching to some hip-hop, with DRAM and Lil Yachty, Matthew added "Anthra produced this unique bass, never breaking a sweat."
After passing up the chance to review the 5th generation of Gold, back when they launched in 2019, Matthew concluded "do I regret not demoing these all those years ago, most definitely".
