We spoke to Instagram follower @huroniahogrider about his audio equipment, record collection and his favourite album

When did you start collecting records?

I started collecting records when I was in my early teens. Much of my collections I post on Instagram are originals I purchased, from the age of about thirteen, into my twenties. Unfortunately later on into my collecting, CD’s were the in thing. Records were suddenly becoming scarce in North America and I just started looking at garage sales and friends collections to keep up my love of album collecting.

What's your favourite record?

I must say it changes from time to time. The one I constantly go back to is Rush’s ‘Moving Pictures’, but I have many different copies of Rush’s ‘2112’. I even managed to get my hands on a framed gold record. But ‘Moving Pictures’ has always held a special place in my collective.

Who is your favourite artist/band?

Canadian rock band Rush are my favourite. Canadian jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall is my favourite solo artist.

What's your favourite music based magazine?

I honestly don’t have one. But when I research my albums for info to post on Instagram I often find myself reading old Rolling Stone’s articles. Which if you are not aware, Rolling Stone Magazine have always been harshly critical of Rush and put up road blocks over the years to having Rush inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, ironically.
