With the launch of a major BBC Four documentary series on Friday all about the origins and history of Country Music we thought we’d jump on the chuck wagon and showcase some alternate country hits. We’ve included some famous country stars covering more contemporary songs, some great tunes that started life as country hits and some of the best country songs that have ever been made.
